What are Head lice?

Head lice are one of those parasites living in human hair which cause immense irritation to the scalp. Sometimes the situation becomes worse when the victim feels growing urge to scratch the scalp with frustration and irritation caused by the head lice. Considering their immense damage to the safety of scalp, a proper remedy is essential to eradicate them. Though there are various ways to get rid of head lice such as using chemicals, shampoo, and other possible means of remedies against head lice.

But use of chemicals and other products made of chemicals such as shampoo cause harmful side effect against hair and scalp. Home Remedy for Head Lice:

Onion has the wonderful property to get rid of head lice, and so is considered an effective treatment when it comes to home remedy for head lice. What you can do is to take a small bowlful of extracted juice of onion. Now, apply the juice all around the surface of scalp, massage the roots of the hair gently for some times. Once the massage is done, let the juice of the onion remain on your hair for almost 3 hours.

The onion has barbed sulphur ingredients, strong properties able enough to kill the head lice at one go. When the time is over, take a bath and remove all the dead lice from your hair. The onion juice should be applied on three days continuously so that the there is no chance of any eggs of the lice remain in the hair.

Another home remedy for head lice is the use of the powder of raw custard apple. Don't take off the seeds of the fruit while preparing the powder. Once the powder is made, use a gas-tight box to store the powder for some time. Now, use the powder on your scalp and wrapped your head with a cloth before retiring to bed. In the morning, rinse the applied powder with water while taking a bath.

Just like an onion, the garlic has also the strong property for effective treatment as a home remedy for head lice. With two small pieces of garlic and clove grind them into a paste. Once the paste is made, mingle it with lemon juice. Now, before going to bed apply this solution to your head. The garlic has some chemical properties function as a poison to head lice. Next morning after taking a bath you will feel great relief from the head lice.

By following any one of the mentioned home remedy for head lice, there is fair chance of getting a long term relief from the parasites.
